Work With an Adventure
Travel Specialist Who has Planned Family Adventures.

First and foremost, and this may sound a bit self serving...but it is
true, make sure you are working with an adventure
travel specialist who has experience working with families and knows
the destination. While there
are many adventure tours specifically for designed for families
they are not "one size fits all". Some maybe ideal for your family,
others not.

Do so start by investigating "Family Tours"
We have dozens of tours on our site that are designed specifically for
families. In many cases, accommodation will be chosen that has family
appeal, perhaps with a swimming pool. The tours also may feature child
friendly guides
and itineraries that will appeal to child and adult alike.
Consider looking beyond
"family" tours.
There are a myriad of adventure travel tours that,
although not designed specifically for families, may be a perfect fit
your own...particularly if you have older kids.
Get the Whole Family Involved
in Planning.

If
everyone has a say in picking the adventure trip they’ll look
forward to it
more. Get online as a family and explore together. While
looking,
one locale may resonate with one child but not with another. The same
goes for activities. It is usually pretty easy to ensure the trip will
have something for everyone.
Engage, Stimulate and Educate
by All Means But Let's Make Sure We All Have Fun.

Kids
need to be kids and there are lots of ways of building kid stuff into
your holiday. For example if you are going to do a city walking tour
bring along a couple of little fold up scooters.
Decided on and Booked a
Trip? What now?
Well, that depends on the trip. If you are planning anything strenuous,
make sure your kids are prepared. If you are going to be
hiking or cycling or even taking long walks you can work up to the
challenges slowly before you leave (this may be useful for the parents
as well).
Learn More About Your
Destination

Learning
about the destination can make the trip itself so much more fun. If you
are going to visit the Taj Mahal for example, there is a history to the
place that is fascinating reading which will make the visit that much
more poignant. This can be done as a family as well. Just gather around
the computer. You may also find interesting videos on YouTube
or the like.
Try not to overdo it though. The adventure should not turn into work!
Packing for Your Trip
We will be pleased to help you with your packing list which will vary
widely by destination. Waterproof and
breathable clothing, sun-protected clothing and pants with zip-off
bottoms are often high-priority items for adventure travel.
