The Galapagos Islands are located 1000km West of Ecuador, South America in the Pacific Ocean, right on the Equator.

The Galapagos Islands are the World’s Second Largest Marine Reserve.

Snorkeling in the ocean around Galapagos is consistently rated the highest of all activities.

    • Seven ocean currents converge at Galapagos to form it’s unique marine ecosystem.

    • Many Galapagos Fish species are restricted to Galapagos (endemic).

    • The Islands are also a Whale and Shark Sanctuary; since 1990.

    • Galapagos has 3 separate ocean zones:
    1. Central and Southern Islands which have the most fish species.
    2. Northern Islands with the warmest waters (closest to equator).
    3. Western Islands with the coolest waters.

    • Galapagos is abundant with sea life and a protected fishing area. You can see penguins, sea lions, marine iguana, sea turtles, dolphin, sharks, whales, whale sharks, rays, octopus and cuddle fish, and sea cucumbers, among many, many other species of fish.

    • Galapagos was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2001.
