From the imperial cities with their palaces and sprawling souks, to the emptiness of the Sahara, this adventure will highlight the contrasts of this beautiful country. Head off into the dunes on top of a camel, wander through dramatic Atlas gorges and marvel at a sea of stars in the desert night sky. Wind the adventure up in magical Marrakech and witness one of the world's great spectacles as the Djemma el Fna comes alive at dusk. Days 1-2 FesArrive in the symbolic heart of Morocco. Take a guided tour through busy souqs and alleyways. See mosques, palaces, gardens and fountains in the oldest of all the Moroccan imperial cities. Day 3 Meknes/Volubilis/FesDiscover ancient ruins and pay a visit to the impressive Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail in Meknes. Tread in the footsteps of the Romans in historical Volubilis. Stay overnight in Fes. Day 4 AzrouKeep a look out for cheeky Berber monkeys playing in the trees on a walk through the woods. Day 5 MideltTraverse the scenic Middle Atlas mountains en route to Midelt. Be sure to have the camera ready to capture the mischievous Barbary apes along the way. Wander through the bustling Midelt souq in search of the best priced carpet. Day 6 Sahara CampSet off in a caravan of camels on a trek into the Sahara. Try and spot scarabs and sand lizards along the way. Later, help cameleers bake bread in a sandy oven and be amazed at how delicious it tastes. Drift off to sleep under a sky full of twinkling stars. Day 7-8 Todra/Dades GorgesGet the kids up early to witness sunrise over the Sahara. Marvel at the changing colours of the dunes - a magical sight. Then, leave this sandy landscape behind and travel on to Tinerhir, near Todra Gorge. Go on a hike through this beautiful gorge and be amazed at its spectacular pink canyons and lush palmeraies. Continue onto Dades Gorge and see impressive red rock formations. Day 9 Ait BenhaddouGet a taste of Hollywood in the heart of the desert on a visit to Ait Benhaddou. Wander through the kasbah that has been the back drop to many blockbuster films. Days 10-12 MarrakechEnd the adventure in Marrakech. Eat al fresco in Djemma el-Fna and watch one of the best shows on earth unfold as the square comes alive with snake-charmers, musicians, story-tellers and stalls.
