| Overview
|
During this exhilarating journey to India's north we encounter hill resorts, magnificent mountain vistas and the rich tapestry of cultures that make this secluded pocket of the Indian Himalaya so enticing. We first travel to Dharamsala, home of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, then Manali, with its exquisite Hindu temples shaded by conifer trees, before embarking on a rugged 2-day drive to Leh in Ladakh. Here we witness the ancient Buddhist monasteries and forts that make up 'Little Tibet'. Throughout the journey our expert local guides will come to the fore as they devise a series of wonderful day-walks from our comfortable hotels. Each of our Road to Leh departures are timed to coincide with one of the many colourful and fascinating festivals of Ladakh - be it the Hemis (H), Taktok (T) or the Ladakh (L) festivals.
