Overview
Our new Himalayan Traverse has all the makings of a classic. We cross three Himalayan ranges - the Pir Panjal, the Great Himalaya and the Zanskar Range on this challenging itinerary. From the verdant valleys of Himachal Pradesh we ascend to the isolated whitewashed settlements of Zanskar with its ancient monasteries refecting a deep-seated Buddhist culture akin to Tibet. The Rupshu region provides a further contrast with its deep gorges and wild, windswept landscape explored by only a handful of trekkers each season.
