Days 1-2 KathmanduWelcome to the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. Head to Durbar Square to admire its delightful architecture and observe city life. Step back in time on a tour Bhaktapur, a small feudal city where cobblestone streets wind between temples, courtyards, shrines and wells. Day 3 BandipurThis charming mountain town, surrounded by orange orchards, has views to the north over the foothills towards Tibet and southern views that hint at the River Ganges. Take an afternoon walk to meet locals and admire traditional Newari houses with slate roofs and carved wooden windows. Day 4 BegnasSerene and picturesque, the lakes of Begnas and Rupa are surrounded by thick forest echoing with birdcalls. Discover peaceful mountain trails, go fishing, explore Begnas Lake by boat and unwind with an Ayurvedic massage. Those feeling a little more energetic may like to unwind with some traditional yoga exercises. Days 5-6 PokharaSituated on the shores of Nepal's second-largest lake, Pokhara has a relaxed ambience. Meet local carpet weavers and craftspeople, hike to the World Peace Pagoda or relax in a cafe. Support a great cause by purchasing souvenirs or gifts at the Tibetan refugee camp. Days 7-8 Chitwan National ParkSafari through the tangled jungle of Chitwan National Park. In canoes, glide down a river that is one of the last remaining habitats of gharials - fish-eating crocodiles that have been hunted close to extinction. Gain an insight into local life on a village tour, visit an elephant breeding centre and keep an eye out for rhinos and the elusive Bengal tiger. Days 9-10 KathmanduContinue to explore the national park before heading back to Kathmandu. Catch up on some last minute shopping or simply kick back and relax in one of Kathmandu's many teahouses.
