| Overview |
India's deep south is a total contrast to the better known north. From its landscape to its food, from its culture to its history, life in the south is utterly distinct. Start this trip in lush, green Kerala - a coconut paradise with watery landscapes, beautiful beaches and verdant mountains. Travel onto Tamil Nadu and encounter a place distinctly drier and more frenetic. Home to the pilgrimage centre of Madurai, and the most famous temple in India, Sri Meenakshi, Tamil Nadu is a real assault to the senses. These two states give a great insight into the contrasts that exist in this vast subcontinent. Savour the foods, sights, colours and sounds and, above all, the warm welcome for all visitors.

The traveller may be required to pay the tour leader a small "tour kitty" to cover local expenses. This may or may not apply to this tour. Call if you have questions. |
