Days 1-2 AntiguaFrom its volcanic outskirts to its cobblestone laneways, Antigua is a fantastic place to start the adventure. Take to the streets and admire the churches, cathedrals, parks and gardens of this charming colonial city on a guided tour. Days 3-5 Panajachel/ChichicastenangoVisit colourful Chichicastenango market, packed full of traditional weaving and crafts. Afterwards, travel to the lakeside town of Panajachel for picture-perfect views of Lake Atitlan. Enjoy a boat trip on the lake and explore a local village that's strongly connected to the traditional Mayan lifestyle. Days 6-7 Flores/TikalFly to the easy-going town of Flores. Spend free time here wandering through local handicraft shops, or perhaps try Guatemalan cuisine for a taste sensation. Then, discover the jungle ruins and limestone temples at Tikal National Park. For the ultimate thrill take a canopy tour along zip wires and hanging bridges; an experience the whole family will remember. Days 8-9 Jungle Lodge/Belize HighlandsLeaving Guatemala behind, cross the border into beautiful Belize. Choose from a number of optional activities here. Hire bikes and head off to explore the surrounding lush-green mountains, visit a butterfly farm, or jump in a canoe for a tour through caves complete with stunning stalactites and glittering stalagmites.
