Journey across Mexico learning about ancient civilisations and indigenous people whilst enjoying amazing Mexican cuisine. Then onto the Yucatan Peninsula to visit Chichen Itza Pyramid and the Caribbean coastline and sandy beaches, including the tranquil island of Isla Mujeres, the town of Playa del Carmen, and the ultra-relaxing island of Caye Caulker in Belize where you can snorkel with nurse sharks and rays. We cross into Guatemala and visit the great Mayan city of Tikal arguably the best preserved Mayan ruins yet discovered. Two nights at Finca Ixobel allows time to enjoy some optional activities; caving, horse-riding, river tubing or hiking. Enjoy the sunset behind Lake Atitlan's volcanoes, haggle at the legendary markets of Chichicastenango and stroll the cobble-stone streets of colonial Antigua. Southwards, we head through Honduras and Nicaragua where you can marvel at the Copan ruins, swim in freshwater lakes, hike up active volcanoes, and relax stunning beaches. We round off the tour in San Jose, Costa Rica, land of coffee and eco-tourism.
