Day 1 Darwin/Kakadu National ParkDepart Darwin and tackle the Top End with a trip south to experience the rich biodiversity of World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park. For more than 50,000 years this spectacular park has been home to the local Aboriginal people. Enter murky and mysterious waters on a thrilling wilderness cruise. Keep eyes peeled for crocodiles. If luck permits, maybe witness the well-honed hunting instincts and primal nature of these fascinating creatures with prehistoric bloodlines. After lunch, head to Ubirr Rock to view fine examples of Aboriginal rock art. Some of these paintings were created over 2,000 years ago and depict creatures that are now extinct, such as the Tasmanian tiger. This area is also known for its stunning views - the panoramic scenery is some of Australia's best! Tonight camp in the heart of Kakadu and fall asleep reliving the days' adventures. Day 2 Kakadu National Park/DarwinBe immersed in cool Kakadu waters with a refreshing post-breakfast swim. Walk through the sandstone surrounds and feel the earthy energy of this sacred part of Australia. After lunch, continue on to discover why this park holds great significance to the local indigenous communities. Learn a little more about the habitat, landscape and culture of spectacular Kakadu at the informative and well-resourced Bowali Visitor Centre. Featuring audio-visual presentations, displays and a library, the knowledgeable staff at the centre can answer any questions about this famous national park. Return to cosmopolitan Darwin with the memories of Kakadu fresh in your heart.

| Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends. - Maya Angelou |
