Days 1-2 SydneyThis East Coast adventure begins in harbourside Sydney. Then, with a local guide, explore the nearby villages of Angourie and Wooloweyah. Days 5-6 Byron BayThis travellers paradise has something for everyone. For the active, why not go for a surf? Or join the leader for a hike to the lighthouse that marks Australias most eastern point. For those wanting to relax, perhaps head to an art gallery, catch a band or try to spot dolphins from the beach. Day 7 Hervey BaySpend the night in Hervey Bay, gateway to Fraser Island. If the weather is fine, indulging in some fish and chips on the beach is a must. Days 8-9 Fraser IslandTravel to World Heritage-listed Fraser Island. This is the largest sand island on the planet and home to rainforests, lakes and wild dingos. Explore the island by 4x4 during the day and view the amazing blanket of stars from the beach at night. While on the island walk through ancient rainforests growing in nothing but sand, swim in pristine lakes and rivers, and journey along 75 Mile Beach - a registered state highway and operational airstrip. Back on the mainland take an overnight train north to the incredible Whitsundays. Days 10-12 Airlie Beach/WhitsundaysWaterbabies will rejoice in Airlie Beach, a hub of all things aquatic. Set sail to Hayman Island and enjoy snorkeling, swimming and sunbathing in the spectacular surrounds of the Whitsundays. Discover a riot of colourful coral and vibrant tropical fish in this breathtaking underwater world. Days 13-15 CairnsThe adventure comes to an end in Cairns, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, Atherton Tablelands and the ancient rainforests of Cape Tribulation to the north. Stay on longer to enjoy exploring this stunning area further.
