Days 1-3 SydneyThis East coast adventure begins in vibrant harbourside Sydney. Mingle with locals at Bondi beach, hire a bicycle and ride across the Harbour Bridge or take a pub tour through the historic Rocks region. A day trip to the nearby Blue Mountains is also recommended and of course, no trip to Sydney is complete without a visit to the Sydney Opera House. Days 4-6 Byron BayThis traveller's paradise has something for everyone. For the active, try surfing, hike to the lighthouse that marks Australia's most eastern point or catch a band. For those looking for a more relaxed pace, hang out with the hippies and yuppies in art galleries or try to spot dolphins from the beach. Days 7-8 BrisbaneA ferry trip along the Brisbane River is highly recommended. Be sure to jump off at the South Bank precinct to explore the weekend markets, gaze back at the city skyline or even take a dip at the man-made beach. The Regatta Hotel is a great place to hang out with they city's younger population or head to the expansive botanical gardens for a picnic in the heart of the city.
