Overview
This is Laos and Cambodia at its absolute best! This entirely unique journey takes us to some of the most intriguing and unforgettable places these former French colonies have to offer. We commence with a visit to the Great Sacred Stupa of Vientiane in the sleepy capital of Laos. We then travel to one of the countries most mysterious archaeological sites; the Plain of Jars before journeying to the under ground world of the Vieng Xai Caves where the Pathet Lao lived during the 'Secret War'. We arrive by boat to the picturesque town of Luang Prabang where we explore its exquisite golden temples and Kung Sii waterfalls. Venturing south we discover the lush wild beauty of Tadlo and traditional village life on Dong Kong Island. After visiting the beautiful Liphi waterfall on the Laos/Cambodia border we enter Cambodia overland, arriving in its capital Phnom Penh. Here we are reminded of Cambodia's war torn past as we visit the notorious Killing Fields of Choeung Ek. In contrast, Siem Reap boasts the glorious Angkor Wat complex of Khmer temples, pagodas and ancient walls where we delight in the exploration of this awe-inspiring place.
