Day 1 Ho Chi Minh City/Mekong Delta HomestayTravel from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta. Vietnam's 'ricebowl' is a green, fertile area where crops of coconut, sugar cane, fruit and rice are abundant. Lush with rice paddies and fish farms, this area is dotted with river islands and picturesque villages making it a photographer's delight. Take it all in while cruising through the river and canals of the Mekong Delta, stopping at an orchard. Spend the night at a village home, sleeping in a stilt-house built high above the water and making friends with locals. Day 2 Mekong Delta/Ho Chi Minh CityCruise down the Mekong to Vinh Long, then switch to dry land and drive to the Dong Tam Snake Farm and Vinh Trang Pagoda. There's still plenty of time to jump in a cyclo and join the crowds whizzing through Ho Chi Minh's busy streets.
