Day 1 BangkokEncounter the heaving streets of Thailand's sprawling capital, where modern and ancient cultures mingle to create fascinating sights, delicious food and fabulous shopping. Days 2-4 Ko SametMake tracks to Bangkok's nearest island getaway, Ko Samet. A national park surrounded by palm-fringed, white beaches and azure waters - this is the perfect place to chill out for a few days. Spend time soaking up the sun on the aptly-named Hat Ao Prao (Paradise Beach), rent a surfboard to take on the waves or wander through the lush, tropical flower gardens. Perhaps take a boat trip to the nearby reefs and uninhabited islands. In the evenings, savour fresh seafood al fresco at the resort's restaurant or sit back on the chalet balcony and enjoy a spectacular sunset. Days 5-6 BangkokGrab a bargain at the Patpong Night Market or feast on a final spicy curry.
