Day 1 Chiang MaiThe friendly locals, gold-embossed temples, vibrant night bazaar and fascinating moat-bound Old Town make Chiang Mai a highlight for travellers. Enjoy a traditional northern Thai dinner while local tribes perform traditional dances unique to their region. Retire to an authentic Lanna-style room. Day 2 Doi Suthep TempleThe mountainside temple of Doi Suthep is one of the north's most sacred. Climb 300 steps up the dragon staircase or take the gondola to the top and admire the spectacular views. The afternoon is free to enjoy a traditional massage or even take a Thai cooking lesson. Day 3 Mae Ta Maan/Elephant RideRide an elephant through the forest, take an ox-cart through rice fields and float on a bamboo raft down the Mae Taeng River. Visit orchid and butterfly farms and discover the array of exotic species that thrive in the region. Days 4-5 Chiang MaiTake to the streets on a bike ride to the ancient city of Wiang Kum Kam. Discover the incredible ruins of Wat Hao Nong before wrapping up the adventure among animated vendors at the local market.
