Day 1 SingaporeArrive in sultry Singapore and travel down Orchard Road to pick up a few bargains. Or perhaps sip a Singapore Sling in the Raffles Hotel where the famous drink was invented. Day 2 MelakaTravel north into Malaysia and the historic port city of Melaka. Admire Chinatown's unique Peranakan architecture from the back of a trishaw. Days 3-4 Kuala LumpurAbsorb the multicultural mix on a half-day city tour of Kuala Lumpur. In free time, stroll Dataran Merdeka, shop in Suria KLCC or scale the 272 steps up to the Batu Caves. Be sure to indulge in the myriad of tasty food options that Kuala Lumpur city is famous for. Days 5-6 HomestaySample succulent tropical fruits such as rambutan or the pungent durian before seeing how traditional Malays live at a homestay. Sitting cross-legged on the floor for meals, using fingers instead of knives and forks and dressing in sarongs all makes for a great cultural experience. Days 7-8 PenangVisit Penang and take a rickshaw tour through the streets of Georgetown, drop by the Butterfly Farm or tuck into tasty local cuisine. Day 9 Nakhon Si ThammaratArrive in Thailand and travel to Nakhon Si Thammarat. Famous for its shadow puppets, Nakhon also has a great night market. Be sure to bring an appetite as the Thai hawker food here is a must. Days 10-13 Ko SamuiDon a snorkel to discover the underwater treasures of Ang Thong Marine National Park - an archipelago of untouched islands surrounded by pristine coral reefs pulsing with life. Wake early to watch the sunrise or to enjoy a final swim before boarding the train to Bangkok. Days 14-15 BangkokGlide through Bangkok's canals on a longtail boat and gaze at the huge reclining Buddha at Wat Pho on a guided tour. Maybe wrap up the Asia tour with a visit to Bangkok's animated night market, where everything from fried rice to fried bugs is on the menu.
