Days 1-2 Phnom PenhArrive in the enigmatic capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. Pay respects to lives lost at the chilling Tuol Sleng Museum and the infamous Killing Fields. In free time, gain insight into a more glorious era in the country's history amid the treasures the National Museum. Days 3-4 BattambangBattambang city's facades evoke a certain elegance, with French-colonial shopfronts lining the riverside. Make a sobering visit to Phnom Sampov and drop by the peaceful temples of Wat Banan. In the evening, take a walk along the riverfront and watch locals indulge in a range of energetic pursuits, from yoga to folk dancing. Days 5-7 Siem Reap/Angkor WatRise early to witness a spectacular sunrise over Angkor Wat and enjoy a few days of temple-hopping with a local guide. The temples of Angkor Wat are all uniquely amazing and are sure to captivate. When the sun goes down, head down to the lively town centre of Siem Reap and, if feeling brave, snack on some crunchy crickets – the local specialty. Day 8 Kompong ChamWind things back a notch amid the slow pace of Kompong Cham before taking a close up look at rural life on a bicycle ride. Days 9-10 KampotRenowned for its pungent durian fruit, riverside Kampot is a wonderful place to relax. Venture into the Cambodian countryside for a tour through salt flats, rice fields, pepper plantations and the famous Phnom Chhnork caves. Stop by several villages along the way to enjoy warm and welcoming local hospitality. Days 11-12 SihanoukvilleFor a spot of beachside bliss, Sihanoukville is the perfect destination. Take a boat tour to one of the many nearby islands, discover tropical paradise in Ream National Park or simply kick back and relax surrounded by swaying palms, white sands and boundless, blue ocean. Days 13-14 Phnom PenhBack in Phnom Penh, go in search of shade and some silver jewellery at the Russian Market or see if the blue flag is flying outside the Royal Palace - it's a sign the king is in residence. Then, it's time to farewell new-found friends as the Best of Cambodia trip comes to an end.
