Days 1-3 TokyoExplore the city by bicycle, watch sumo wrestlers at training and head out for some hiking, rafting or kayaking in the nearby bamboo forests. Day 4 FujiHike up the imposing Mt Fuji or along wonderful forest tracks nearby. Days 5-7 IzuThis peninsula has everything to keep the adrenalin pumping. Explore the coast by sea kayak, cycle mountain roads or hike through the beautiful countryside. Days 8-9 KamikochiFrom a log cabin base, explore an area filled with jagged mountains, virgin forest and pristine streams. This is one of Japan's most beautiful regions and is perfect for the nature lover. Days 10-14 KyotoHire a bike and explore the wonderful gardens, temples, shrines and castles scattered across the city. Spend another day swimming and sea-kayaking among uninhabited islands and hike to mysterious Shinto shrines.
