Days 1-2 Hong KongWelcome to Hong Kong! Arrive early to soak up the East-meets-West vibe of this eclectic city. Take advantage of the dazzling nightlife or snare a bargain at one of Hong Kong's exciting markets. Days 3-4 YangshuoTravel to Yangshuo to discover the heart and soul of rural China. Take a cycling tour into the countryside to gain an insight into traditional life and eat lunch at a farmhouse or local cafe. Days 5-7 ShanghaiCatch a jaw-dropping performance by the world-famous Shanghai acrobats and spend free time exploring this thriving metropolis. Stroll along the Bund to see a fascinating array of art deco buildings, explore the old French Concession area or go in search of a dumpling feast. For a slower pace, explore the many treasures of the Shanghai Museum or head to the Yuyuan Gardens, an oasis of calm amid the chaos of the big city. Day 8 Water TownCatch a glimpse of the past on a visit to a water town. Tranquil and slow-paced, villagers lead a simple life here so take time to appreciate the serenity. Take an optional gondola ride among Xitang's canals. Days 9-11 Xi'anMake tracks to Xi'an city and visit the famous Terracotta Warriors. These ancient statues have guarded the First Emperor in an underground necropolis for more than 2,000 years. Cruise around Xi'an's Muslim Quarter, enjoy some hawker-style street food and visit an Intrepid foundation project that assists children with learning disabilities. Days 12-14 Beijing & Great WallTravel the final leg of the trip to lively Beijing. Explore Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. China's Great Wall, an incredible feat of engineering, stretches more than 6,000km. See it up close on a daytrip before a final night out in Beijing.
