Day 1 Kota KinabaluSample delicious Malaysian food or scour the city markets for local handicrafts. Days 2-3 Mt KinabaluIt's a tough trek to Laban Rata, situated a staggering 3,300 m above sea level. After a pre-dawn start, the sunrise at the summit and the spectacular views make it all worth while. There's nothing quite like standing atop South-East Asia's tallest mountain. Day 4 Turtle IslandWitness the nesting of giant green turtles and be touched by the incredible obstacles tiny hatchlings must overcome to make it to the sea. Day 5 Sepilok Orangutan Reserve/SukauSee Borneo's endearing orangutans in Sepilok before heading out on a boat in search of proboscis monkeys in Sukau. Days 6-7 Kota KinabaluVenture into the cathedral-like caves of Gomantong, home to millions of bats and swiftlets, en route to Sabah's capital, Kota Kinabalu, to chill out on the beach.
