| Overview |
Our Temples of Angkor Tour explores the fabled city of Angkor, the eighth wonder of the world! The hidden city was the ancient capital of the Khmer Dynasty. There are over one hundred temples, many shrouded in great mystery. Our tour includes the Rolous group of temples - Preah Ko, Lo Lei, and the largest, Bakong with its active Buddhist monastery. We visit Phnom Bakheng, a five-tiered temple mountain for spectacular sunset views over Angkor Wat, and the exquisite Banteay Srey which exhibits some of the finest stone carving in the world. Angkor Wat is probably the most breathtaking of the monuments, and we return there again for the beautiful sunrise. We visit the fortified city of Angkor Thom, the Great City; and Ta Prohm, the most atmospheric ruin, buried in the jungle, its towers and walls covered in vast tree roots! Our time in Siem Reap ends with a boat trip on the Tonle Sap Lake, Asia's largest inland lake, with its fascinating floating villages.
