| Overview |
In a unique and exciting journey exploring Borneo, this tour satisfies all tastes by bringing to life jungle walks and its wildlife. We delve into the countries national parks, stay in a longhouse, travel by bus, plane and longboats to uncover the charms of this abundant island. The tour opens exploring Kuching and Semengoh Orang Utan sanctuary before travelling to Bako National Park in search of the Proboscis monkey. Flying on to Mulu we visit Gunung Mulu National Park for walks into Deer Cave and Lang Cave, where thousands of bats fly out for their nightly feeding forays. We follow the Headhunter Trail to visit the Iban people, and explore the amazing Pinnacles. Continuing on to Sabah and Kota Kinabalu on the South China Sea, we climb Mt Kinabalu then view the prolific wildlife around Ox Bow Lake. On to Sandakan for our visit to the stunning turtle island of Selingan, surrounded by crystal clear water and reefs. Next we visit the Sepilok sanctuary, where orang utans live wild in a vast jungle refuge. We make a visit to the Australian War Memorial, and from there we return to Kota Kinabalu where the tour ends. Mount Kinabalu - Important Information: Any references to availability or non availability of tours which include the trek to the summit of Mt Kinabalu, listed beside the departure dates on our website, should be treated as a guide only. Whilst Mondo Adventure Travel endeavours to keep this information as current as possible please keep in mind that the availability of beds at the Resthouses on the mountain is limited, and can change rapidly, and we cannot guarantee availability for the trek. To be permitted to climb to the summit of Mt Kinabalu, you must have a confirmed bed at one of the Resthouses, and the number of beds is obviously limited. Whilst we will endeavour to organise this for you, this is subject to availability and is not guaranteed. At certain times of year, beds are available within a few weeks of departure, however, in peak season these can be sold out several months in advance. Within 2 months of a departure, all bookings are on a request basis only, and it cannot be guaranteed that we will be able to confirm the booking. Before we can apply for your place on the mountain, we will require your full name, passport number, nationality and date of birth, as well as the tour deposit, or full payment if the tour departs within 30 days. In the event that spaces are unavailable, your travel consultant will advise you of any alternatives. If you are considering a tour that includes the trek to the summit of Mt Kinabalu book early to avoid disappointment. This information is correct at the time of writing.
