| Overview |
Our Sabah adventure is a must for wildlife and outdoor lovers. There is so much to see in a short space of time as we show you some amazing wildlife and rainforests, clear blue seas, unspoilt islands and Mount Kinabalu - Borneo's highest mountain. We start with a visit to the World Heritage site of Kinabalu National park and make the overnight ascent of the magnificent Mount Kinabalu. Two days are then spent viewing the prolific wildlife in Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary, venturing in search of probiscus and silver leaf monkeys, wild orang utan, birds and other wildlife. Next, Sandakan, with time to spend on Selingan Island, where in season, giant sea turtles arrive at night to lay their eggs. After that we visit Sepilok sanctuary to observe the orang-utans in their natural habitat in this vast jungle refuge. We make a visit to the Australian War Memorial, and from there we return to Kota Kinabalu. Mount Kinabalu - Important Information: Any references to availability or non availability of tours which include the trek to the summit of Mt Kinabalu, listed beside the departure dates on our website, should be treated as a guide only. Whilst Mondo Adventure Travel endeavours to keep this information as current as possible please keep in mind that the availability of beds at the Resthouses on the mountain is limited, and can change rapidly, and we cannot guarantee availability for the trek. To be permitted to climb to the summit of Mt Kinabalu, you must have a confirmed bed at one of the Resthouses, and the number of beds is obviously limited. Whilst we will endeavour to organise this for you, this is subject to availability and is not guaranteed. At certain times of year, beds are available within a few weeks of departure, however, in peak season these can be sold out several months in advance. Within 2 months of a departure, all bookings are on a request basis only, and it cannot be guaranteed that we will be able to confirm the booking. Before we can apply for your place on the mountain, we will require your full name, passport number, nationality and date of birth, as well as the tour deposit, or full payment if the tour departs within 30 days. In the event that spaces are unavailable, your travel consultant will advise you of any alternatives. If you are considering a tour that includes the trek to the summit of Mt Kinabalu book early to avoid disappointment. This information is correct at the time of writing.
