Departing from Entebbe this short tour visits the best locations for primate and game viewing in Uganda. First a boat trip on Lake Victoria to visit the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, home to 40 orphaned and rehabilitated chimps. Then on to Kibale Forest National Park, where we take a chimpanzee tracking excursion searching for the habituated but wild chimp troop living in this pristine forest. We may also see a number of additional monkey species on our walks including the striking black and white Colobus monkey. While in the area we also take a walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary which hosts one of the finest primate and birding trails in the country. Next stop Queen Elizabeth National Park where we explore the game park by foot, game drive and a boat cruise. With over 90 species of mammal, 20 different predators and 610 species of bird, the game viewing in this park is exceptional. Climbing up to the scenic Uganda highlands we head on to the tour highlight, a chance to trek with the mountain gorilla. An unforgettable and moving experience is to sit in the forest with these rare and gentle giants. Our last stop on tour is the beautiful Lake Mburo National Park where you have the option of taking a quad bike safari in the park to check out the wild game or perhaps a walking safari with a park ranger. Please note: The tour price includes a gorilla permit. The cost of the gorilla permit is payable at the time of booking, along with the tour deposit, and is non-refundable. Please note that permits are subject to availability, and will be applied for as soon as payment has been received by Mondo Adventure Travel.
